Also, I'm unsure of the rule regarding the guaranteed blue contract of a player already cut. Jake McGee has retired from baseball, am I still on the hook for his contract even if I cut him last season? TIA

I am posting this here, but it applies to all teams:
It is NOT necessary to release the players lost to the expansion draft. Since they had been taken off your roster and exposed to the draft, you had, in effect, already released them.
You need only concern yourselves with the players you originally kept and those undrafted players being returned to your roster.
