Beginning with this the 2024 season!
Clarity on International signed players. They are rights protected for League Franchises or they are available in Free Agency once Free Agency starts(TBD soon) and they're not eligible for the Rookie Draft! Players that sign with a League Franchise will be available immediately for your 26 player roster or your MiLB list of Protected Minor League players until they reach the rookie thresholds of 130 AB o 50 IP in any MLB season, not a career, but in any MLB season.
Waiver Rule Revision for clarity, this is completely new here so we're going to try it this season and then review to see if it becomes a permanent procedure in the League.
All players must go through Waivers for 48 hours before they are available to be released as a League Free Agent. You must post player in the Waiver & Claims thread, an example is in the Subject line: Barry Bonds - SF - OF $40M 2030 Black/Blue/Green/Red. When you release a player any team in the League can put in a claim for them. The time frame is 48 hours, Team with the lowest ranking per the League standing will win a player placed on Waivers. Any player claimed will include their current MLB/Free Agent Contract values. If they are not claimed with the 48 hour time frame from their release they will enter Free Agency. Unclaimed Waivers, the Waiving team will still be responsible for the Blue contract's full length. First season will be 100% and any following season it is 50% of the yearly salary. Black/Green or Red contracts will be Free.
Placing a player on Waivers will be required in the Waivers & Claims thread in Transactions Board first, after 48 hours you will complete the move under your team's Transaction thread as released to Free Agency, via Roster Moves, Team MLB thread. Any player you release into Free Agency you are not allowed to start the bid for them in the Free Agency pool. Once said player is bid on you're then allowed to place bids..
Clarity on Free Agent eligible players. Player must be signed to an MLB contract for the current season, on an MLB 40 man roster and active in the Yahoo League(No NA Yahoo designation), this will include any player that have exceeded the Rookie limits of 130 AB, 50 IP or 3 years MLB experience.
Clarity on roster management. Starting with the 2024 fantasy season we will only have the 10 IL spots available in Yahoo, no more 60 Day IL list on the spreadsheet. Team roster management is the responsibility of each GM. You'll have to manage your MiLB roster as well as your IL roster, once they lose their respective eligibility they will be available for any team to put in a Free Agent bid on them. GMs must post/make Yahoo League moves to active roster or Waive said players. As always Free Agent Blue Contracts will still be on the team's payroll for it's contract length if they do not get claimed in Waivers or bid on in Free Agency. If you are having any issues that would keep you from Managing your roster at any time you must communicate with BOD and we can communicate with you of any situations you need to handle right away with. No excuses as we are always available if called upon.
Free Agent Contract term options. Before the start of the Fantasy season(03/20) all Free Agent Contracts are 3 years at the winning bid. Any Free Agent bidding that starts on 3/20 or later will also have the 1 yr option and will be Free Agents in 2025.
Clarity on the Buyout option. Player is first put on Waivers for 48 hours(Waivers & Claims thread), if not claimed by another team they will become Free Agents available for Bidding. If they are a Black Contract there is no penalty. If it is a Blue Contract, Current season is full value, each additional season is at 50% of the yearly contract.
End of Regular season Waivers & Claims will be prioritized by rankings of the playoff teams first followed by the non playoff teams, from low to high in standings for both. Free Agent bidding will only be allowed for the playoff teams and are only 1 year deals.
Trade Reviews/Approvals are Commissioner made unless it involves the Commissioner's team then it will be Board Approved. Time frame is within 24 hrs. and the Board can give their input on any deal that has posted. During the season(3/20) all financials must be within the League Cap Floor/Ceilings, if not it will not be approved until it meets those requirements as well.
