Assad was not activated off the IL and some 8 days later he will now go to Waivers as of today. If unclaimed the Cubs will still pay the remainder of his Contract for the 2024 season.
7/13/2024 Activated (The Chicago Cubs activated RHP Javier Assad from the 15-day injured list. He will serve as the teams' 27th player in its doubleheader against the Cardinals.)
