Gaddis plays for Cleveland and I don’t think he has enough innings to qualify for free agency.

Sorry, you’re correct he’s on Cleveland. I posted that at 2 am during one on my sleepless nights. However, he has 58 career innings. Wouldn’t that make him available?

Board members will decide but I believe the rule is 50ip in a single season.

The rule is 50 IP in a single season or 3 years service time. Gaddis is ineligible for free agency and belongs to Cleveland.

So, I don’t mean to press the issue, but Gaddis has pitch 58 career innings. He pitched 7.1 in ‘22, 42 innings in ‘23, And 8.2 in ‘24. Let’s assume for a minute I have absolutely no mathematical skills. Which variable has not been met?

The fact that a pitcher has to have 50 innings in a season, not a career. Gaddis only had 42 last year. We do not use a player's cumulative stats, but rather look at each season. Theoretically, Gaddis could pitch 49 innings this year and still be considered a rookie in this league.

Either, this league does not make it easy, or the rules are made up as we go along. I've reviewed as many posts as I can find on this site, and could not find any place where Rookie eligibility is defined by anything other than "50 IP". That's it. Not 50 innings pitched per season. It would be helpful if someone pointed out where this is written. I'm from Missouri, you know, the "Show me state".
Then referencing the other provision, 'Three years of Service', should I assume that this implies three complete years of service (162 games of service time being a full year?), not just parts of 3 years? Or, is this also made up as we go along?
What other happy little bit of nonsense should I expect to encounter?

As far as service time goes, we use cots contracts as the reference. According to them, Gaddis has .073 years of service.

Wojo, this information about Rookie Status is listed in the League Rules document. Some of it is outdated possibly, but not the Minor League player definition.

I was going to tell you that you don't have room on your roster to add Gaddis but I see you moved Beiber to IL without posting it. You MUST post all roster moves: adds, drops to waivers, to/from IL, to/from NA or franchise owned, and trades. This is how we keep your spreadsheet accurate. Thanks.
