can we call up minors n/a players and or any other franchise rights players to make 28 or 30 players on roster then keep 22 or 24 players? which gives perhaps actually more valuable assets to the expansion teams being they are prospects of some degree and low salaries. rather than all bottom of roster players on each cobra team. plus gives flexibilty to teams not wanting to lose MLB players.
otherwise I would put forth a motion to give more time until the expansion draft for people to make trades or find ways to keep players they don't want to lose.

Dave, I covered the expansion draft and what needs to get by all teams. All MiLB are protected and not eligible unless teams want to declare them for the expansion draft. We don't have the time to delay the expansion draft as it's going to create a bit of work to get it done onto the spreadsheet and let's not forget about the Rookie Draft or Keeper deadline so I can get the league up and running on Yahoo as the season starts in less than 3 weeks now. Each team will have to figure it out when it comes to the Cap limits other than the expansion teams which will have a free pass for this season. Next season they'll have to get Cap compliant like the rest of the league does. Sent from my motorola edge using Tapatalk

Dave, this is the second version of a new set of rules you have put forth regarding this. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel regarding the expansion draft?
Keeping all of a franchises NA players and 20 rostered MLB players is plenty and allows for a deep enough pool of players for the 2 expansion teams to draw from. You assume they are going to be picking from the “bottom of each team’s roster” but I contend that there is more than enough talented players to go around and not all teams will leave the worst players unprotected in the draft. I can envision some higher salary guy’s made available in hopes that they will be chosen in the expansion draft thus helping some of the teams tighter to the cap with their own issues.
I believe the plan Milt set into place will work and we need to go forward knowing what the guidelines are so we can plan accordingly and prepare. March is always a shit show getting our brains back in baseball mode and getting ready for the season. Like Milt stated, there is a LOT to do in a short amount of time as well as a bunch of new guys just trying to figure things out.
I know you’re only trying to help but let’s move on with what we have.

This season Jim, they're already in the Yahoo League and after we do the expansion draft they'll have 18 of their 26 player rosters to start with and can fill out the rest of the roster a couple of ways. One being available franchise players and/or through Free Agency. I would expect they'd do both. After today we'll be closer to Free Agency and only a few days to get rosters fown to a starting of the season 26 players. 60-Day Disabled Lists can start being used after I finish the Expansion Draft and return the undrafted players back onto the rosters.
