This is where all 18 teams from 2022 will post their 20 MLB protected player list.
NA/Minors Protected Listed players are not eligible for the Expansion draft. The only exception is if a GM wants to add players from the list onto their franchise’s list of expansion draft eligible players.
Post team name along with the 20 players you want to protect. On the spreadsheet the players listed on 26 player roster and the Disabled List are the players you will be selecting players to protect
Any additional players you want to make eligible for the expansion draft would be listed after the 20 protected players and noted as add to expansion draft.
Each team can only lose 2 players from the expansion draft roster, one player each for Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.

Gordon told me yesterday 26 players would be protected which is consistent with the Yahoo keeper setting. Trying to comply - which is correct?

It's 20 players and I have said it would be set at 20 all along. Most teams have 28-38 players on their rosters from last year.

Milt,
I know you said the disabled list, does this go for the 60 day disabled as well?

It is 26 keepers for the league and 20 of those 26 are protected for the expansion draft. Yes each team has a 26 player roster to start the season with hence the 26 keepers. Right now some teams are up to 38 players, With 20 protected that will make 6 to 18 players from each team. Should give the expansion draft player pool 120-200 players to choose from. With each team only losing 2 players I think everyone can survive the draft? So to make it clear and simple the 20 players your protecting are from your roster and both Disabled Lists. After the Expansion draft all teams will have to get to 26 players. The Keeper deadline is tentatively March 25th.

Question about word "listed." For example, past league rules have not required team owned NA protected players be listed on Yahoo rosters - and can be NA protected Free Agents. An example is Bo Naylor - need not be on the Yahoo NA roster listing, continues to be team owned. (unless this rule has changed as well)
Also to clarify, my recollection is that league rules do not require 26 players - minimum is something like 22 players. The requirement is to have no greater than 26 players, and be in compliance with the salary range defined for that year.
(I think I got that right) Dan P.

Seems that Milt has already answered this. If he is NA eligible, put him on your NA list and then he is NOT subject to the expansion draft and you don't have to protect him.

(I think I got that right) Dan P. That's correct, franchise owned are not required to be on a team's rostered spreadsheet, hence franchise owned should be self explanatory. And yes concerning team rosters the minimum is an fully active 20 player roster for daily scoring positions whether they play every day or not and of course the maximum is 26 active MLB players. Thanks Milt. My question was the word "listed" as in listed on the Yahoo roster as NA as opposed to "team owned." Many players are "team owned" yet not listed as NA on the Yahoo roster. Thanks for your quick response. Dan P.

Thanks for your quick response. Dan P. Dan your right there. Listed or team owned? Either way for the Expansion Draft purposes we are only talking about players listed on the team roster on the spreadsheet and they must be from the 26 player roster, the Disabled List or the 60-Day Disabled List. All other players are not eligible for the Expansion Draft unless the team GM adds them to the Expansion Draft player pool. Hopefully that is better defined for all?
