Well I've waited for Milt to get on and touch on this all weekend and haven't seen or heard from him at all so I want to pass the news on for the members who aren't actively using the chat function.
One of our team owners, board member and friend has tragically passed away. We were all worried for Nathan as he wasn't active for about 3 weeks and this was not a normal thing for Nathan who has been an active member of this league. We decided to try to get a hold of him outside of the league and could not find a way to directly contact him other than the means that we already had. Myself and Gordon found some contact information for someone who we thought (and were right) might be his wife. Gordon through LinkedIn I believe and myself through Facebook. I sent a message explaining our concern for his well being and just trying to do a wellness check on him as it was rare to see him missing like this on Friday evening. It didn't take long for her to reply back to me, informing me of the sad news that Nathan had indeed passed away. I passed on my condolences to her and let her know that we as a whole will be thinking about her and Nathan's family during this time and that while we may have never met in person, Nathan was a great person to talk to and we all know he enjoyed his time here with all of us as much as we enjoyed having him here.
I brought the news back to the group and as we were all in a bit of shock about this, we have been talking about ways to memorialize our friend and fellow manager. A suggestion of renaming the league the Nathan Tarrow Memorial Baseball League was brought forward, as well as retiring the Dodgers organization after this year and possibly collecting some funds together to send to Nathan's widow or in a go fund me type of situation.
I sent a message to Milt that night wanting to let him handle this but life might be getting in the way and he may be away from technology for the time being, which is fine. But I did not want this to go on unknown to all league members for much longer so I figured I would step up and make this post so the whole league can be in the loop for this tragic situation.
Nathan will be missed and I know we all will be thinking positively about his family and friends.
RIP Nathan Tarrow aka LA Dodgers aka Yankeehater 🙏
