Just seeking a little clarity on Prospects and signed International players
And I apologize, I have been traveling extensively for work, and we're relocating to the East Coast, just to simplify our life. As a result, I have stretches in my work week, where I am going early mornings into late night, where things just fall through the cracks. A bucket of frequent flyer miles is a nice perk, but this old, fat body is suffering.
1- All of San Diego's prospects I have the rights to. I can choose to protect them or not. However, if a rookie player is actually traded, to another MLB Team, and he is not on my protected list, he automatically becomes the property of the new team's namesake in our league. If they're protected, I retain the rights.
2- I can freely move prospects on my protected list, as well as any unprotected SD prospect, up to my roster or back down.
3- At the point a prospect loses their rookie eligibility, they must either be on my MLB roster, or they become available to the league as a Free Agent. Does this happen as soon as the threshold is crossed?
4- International prospects which are signed by the SD Padres (like Matui, De Vries or Go), can be called up to my Roster, assuming they're called up to the big show, and their salary is the same.
5a- International prospects on an available Team's roster (Such as Emil Morales for the LA Dodgers), cannot be drafted, however, they will become Free Agents, if and when they are called up. 5b- Or do they need to lose their rookie eligibility first (130 inn/50 games) before they're put into the FA Pool? 5c- Or are they available via Waivers? 5d- Waivers, is exclusively for players released from one of our team's (Much of the past few days). These players can be claimed - there is a 48 hour waiver window. 5e- Waivers occur anytime a player is released.
6a- The highest bidding team gains the rights to the FA and the players annual Salary is equal to the amount of the winning bid. 6b- FA Contracts are 1 year or 3 years. How is the length of the contract determined? 6c- How can a team exceed their Cap? New Contract? Trade with another team which involved cash exchanged? Anything else that I am not considering? 6d- Free Agency will begin after the rookie draft is completed.
Sorry again, still trying to plot a course and fill out my roster.

1, 2, and 4- Correct. 3. Once the rookie limit is reached, the player is a free agent. Owners are responsible for checking the status of their rookies so they are added before they go over the limits. 5a. Any eligible FA player can be bid on once they have had an at-bat or .1 IP 5b. No 5c. No 5d. Yes 5e. Yes
6a. Yes 6b. Winning bidder chooses at time of claim. 6c. A team cannot exceed the cap once rosters are set. Any transaction that would put a team over the cap or under the floor must have a corresponding move to keep in compliance. The BOD will veto any trade that causes a team to go over or under. The only exceptions to this are transactions done in preseason before rosters are set.
6d. Yes.

Only those international players who signed with a non-owned MLB team are eligible to be bid on as free agents once they have either had an at-bat or .1 IP. If a player signed with an owned team such as SD, SF or CHC, they then belong to that team.

Additionally for the answer to 5A the bid for a player must be placed the day after they’ve earned an MLB stat (1 AB or 1/3 IP) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who’s job is it to announce the waiver claims when the 48 hours have past ? I’ve seen a claim made on the list after the 48 hours, and another dropping there claim after the 48 hours have expired ?

Question had also been asked on a different thread how to distinguish priority when you have multiple claims active?? Multiple claims by one team? Nothing changes.. the waiver priority is forever based off current rankings so if we have 10 drops in week 3.. the last placed team at that could get 10 free players if they wanted to. Once a player clears waivers does it the go to FA process? In the case of DeGrom does his current salary appt or a FA salary apply?

So he is still my property ? Yes Walker is still on your team roster and that’s why we maintain a spreadsheet. Any player that is not on your Yahoo team roster but is on your team spreadsheet roster you will email me that list so I can add them manually. Just make sure you have the room on your Yahoo team roster so I can add them. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
