How do we treat a player who Is on a minor league contract and not in the Yahoo database? I have Jesse Chavez who is in this situation. He either takes a spot on your roster via spreadsheet which means you would only have 25 players on your Yahoo team roster or you can put him on Waivers for 48 hours before you can open up his roster spot for another player and if it’s a Blue Contract you’ll pay 100% of the contract this season and 50% for any following seasons of the contract’s duration. I would like to move Graham Pauley & Jackson Merrill from my MiLB Protected List to my MLB Roster. Do I simply post a reply on their thread? Thanks.

Each player should have their own individual thread. It’s not mandatory to create a thread for each player on your MLB or MiLB roster, but when you are moving them from different rosters, on or off IL, trades and such create one thread for them and an Admin can move the player to the right thread or team.

Early in preseason I dropped Michael Lorenzen to Yahoo NA. 2 questions: 1. Can I reclaim him without FA process? or 2. If not, do I have to wait until another owner places a FA bid?

How does this buyout clause work as in the thread for Luis Garcia. I see it’s 100% this year and 50% next year. Is that player now no longer a FA guarantee on roster? I couldn’t find any posts talking about this.

Any owner dropping a blue contract that has more than 1 year remaining can take the FA Guarantee charge in one of two ways. Using Garcia as an example, his FA guarantee is $740K in 2024 and $370K in 2025. Owner took the entire cap hit of $1.11M in 2024, which would be reflected in his FA guaranteed section of his spreadsheet. Alternatively, he could have taken $740K in 2024 and $370K in 2025.

A couple questions......
1) If we put someone with a 2yr or more contract on waivers and they clear waivers are we still responsible for the entire contract? asking for a friend (fellow owner)
2) Is there a list of the 2025 draft order? (I realize its subject to change of course)

1. You are responsible for blue contracts for the length of the contract. If the contract extends beyond the current year, the future years are charged at 50%. You can take the future charge in the current year if you wish. Ex: you drop a player with $740K blue contract through 2025. You can either take cap hit of $740K this year and $370K in 2025, or $1.11M (740+370) this year. 2. Next year's draft order will be determined when season is over, based on regular season records and playoff results.

John, I believe players we drafted in our one round draft retain their slot value on our books for two years, that is how my draft picks have shown the past two years,

Check your spreadsheet. All drafted players are charged at slot value for 2 years. After that, his salary reverts to league minimum or actual salary, if higher. So anyone you drafted in 2023 will revert in 2025.
